Whether you’re interested in the risk of frost, your rainfall patterns or whether you have sufficient heat units to grow a new crop, this service can provide the answers you need for your management decisions.
Topoclimate Australia Pty Ltd staff have over 60 years of collective practical experience in the agricultural and climate fields and can offer prompt and timely analysis services on your climate data tailored to your farm’s special needs through our web-based service.
WHAT SORTS OF CLIMATE DATA CAN YOU ANALYSE?
We can provide analytical services on most digital data from most types of data loggers. Please advise the brand and model of your logger when forwarding files for analysis. If your logger requires specific downloading software or hardware, please advise if you have this software or download device available.
We can either produce a general summary of the data including an independent assessment of data quality or if you have specific needs or requests such as calculation of chilling units or growing degree days, then please forward these requests with your data.

ADVISORY SERVICE ON LOGGER INSTALLATION AND MANAGEMENT
There are a number of pitfalls to installing and managing a temperature datalogger to provide accurate data for your management decisions. TSPL can provide an advisory service on siting, installation, operation and downloading which can include a site visit by one of our qualified staff if required.

STANDARD ANALYSIS
Results amended to standard meteorological recording time including adjusted for daylight saving
· Daily maximum, minimum and mean temperatures.
· Monthly maximum, minimum and mean temperatures.
· Growing Degree Days of Heat above specified base temperature (to be nominated by client)
Estimated Charge for Standard Data Analysis Report on Annual Data $200 per site (+GST)
ADVANCED ANALYSIS
· Frost (duration, severity & frequency on a daily, monthly and annual basis)
· Chilling below a nominated temperature (duration, frequency on daily, monthly and annual basis).
· Heat above a nominated temperature (duration, frequency on a daily, monthly and annual basis).
· Length of specified growing season above specified based temperature.
· Other analyses available on request

LONG TERM AVERAGE COMPARISON
Some site data can be related to the nearest long-term weather station records. Long term averages for a recording site can then be estimated from short-term measurements. The following measurements can be calculated:
Maximum, minimum and mean temperatures on a daily and monthly basis.
Growing Degree-Days of Heat above a nominated base temperature.
Frost occurrence and severity on a daily and monthly basis.
Estimated Charges for Long term Average comparison $200 per site (+GST). Other analyses available on request.
PREDICTIONS OF RISK
Prediction of the frequency of occurrence of climatic events (based on long term records, the occurrence of specific events can be calculated (eg. the frequency of a frost in December)
Estimated Charge for Risk prediction Analysis $100 per site (+ GST)
DATA ANALYSIS OF OTHER CLIMATE LOGGERS
While this service primarily focuses on temperature dataloggers, TSPL can provide data summaries for other types of loggers measuring:
Rainfall -Relative humidity
Leaf wetness – Soil moisture
Wind direction – Air pressure
Wind speed
While the service predominantly uses Gemini Brand Dataloggers, other types of loggers can also be analysed.

DATA STORAGE AND BACKUP FACILITY
Topoclimate Australia Pty Ltd can store your climate data for you and provide a backup service offsite for your precious data. A backup copy for security is not always possible with a home computer setup and this service can provide peace-of-mind in the event of computer crashes or other periodical computer failures.
The need for continuing storage of data can be reviewed annually on receipt of an annual account for the service. If data is no longer required to be stored, it can be removed from the system at this point or return to the client on specific request.
The estimated annual charge this service is $50 per site. (+GST)
